Sheffield Korfball Club

Junior ‘Sheffield Korfball Club’!!

In 2006 the Sheffield Korfball clubs thought that it was time to let the young ‘uns have a go at playing some korf. And so without haste a junior club was created, which gave boys and girls aged 10-14 years old the opportunity to learn the sport for the first time and compete against other junior clubs.

After two years the club thought it was time to have an official club name and the team decided on the name ‘Steel City’.

The club trains every Tuesday evening from 5.30pm to 7pm at King Edwards Junior School and currently compete against junior korfball clubs in Nottingham and Birmingham but are hoping to play some other teams and attend tournaments in the near future.

The club is always looking for new members and both boys and girls from the age of 10 to 14 are always welcome, especially beginners to the sport.

Hopefully the experience these young players get will inspire them to continue their korfball careers and go on to join one of Sheffield’s senior clubs, such as Snakebite KC.
